{Craft} Quick Fourth of July Craft: Red, White & Blue Berry Basket
July 3, 2012 in All Posts, Celebrate, DIY
After strawberry picking and visiting our abundant local farmer’s market, we had both a stash of organic blueberries and lots of leftover strawberry baskets:
So, although we have been so busy that we haven’t done much in the way of Fourth of July crafting this year, this Red, White & Blue Berry Basket helped us get into the celebratory mood.
It was so simple, but managed to fulfill my need for sitting down to make something and allowed us to work on Jane’s fine motor skills and create something fun and festive for the upcoming holiday.
Jane intently concentrating on the weaving:
Carefully scooping and pouring:
Viewing our new red, white + blue table decor (which we’ll be gifting, too) … and enjoying the “fruit” of our labor:
Happy 4th of July!

I am finding that I don’t want to buy anything anymore. Simple ribbon, fabric and buttons make the prettiest things! These are super cute- I didn’t realize I’d missed so many posts. Now, I’m biting my fingers wondering how many other awesome posts I’ve missed from my fave bloggers. Oh- well, catch-up will be fun!
Well, thanks for coming by to visit and comment on this post, Tricia - I know you are super busy right now! I agree - seems like I could be buying stuff until the end of time, but all the really cool stuff is DIY or from upcycled materials.
What a fun weaving project!
I was amazed that my daughter could do it, but then it always seems that I am underestimating my little ones!
