{Creative Christmas Countdown} Mini Bauble Ornament Wreaths

December 17, 2012 in All Posts

I am so so so so ever pleased to be participating in this wonderful holiday tradition again with a group of my favorite kid bloggers! Creative Holiday Art and Craft Activities for Kids

Alissa of Creative With Kids has pulled together a group of fab blogs, bloggers, and creative ideas, along with her co-host, the sweet (and crafty!) Maggy from Red Ted Art, and I can tell you that family-oriented, fun for the holidays ideas abound! Last year, we contributed a DIY Family Memory Game to the Countdown.

For Day 17 of the Creative Christmas Countdown this year, we made Mini Bauble Ornament Wreaths.

This activity is super simple so that even your toddler can join in on making your house merry for the holidays. (Keep in mind that this is not just a Christmas activity, but you can do the same thing in colors for any holiday or event, like Valentine’s day, Easter, or Halloween).

Along with creative festive decorations, your little one will also be developing fine motor skills, learning colors and patterns, and learning about tradition.

Materials

  • 24-36 small round ornaments (We bought ours at Target from the $1 bins).
  • Flower wire or pipe cleaners
  • Ribbon (optional)

How To

Step 1

Tie a loop at the end of your wire or pipe cleaner so the ornaments don’t fall off the end. You can cover up the wire with a pretty satin ribbon for safety and flair.Creative Holiday DIY Ideas for Kids

Step 2

String the ornaments. We used 3 of the $1 tubes, but you could use less for a smaller wreath and more for a larger or thicker wreath. Creative Holiday DIY Ideas for Kids

Step 3

Tie together the wire ends to form your wreath.
